This is Sambit Behura, currently a student NIT Rourkela, enrolled in a B.tech and M.Tech Dual Degree (5 Years) Program, 2014-2019. My queries are as follows:\n(1) What is the necessary criteria for Dual Degree Students in Centrally Funded Technical Institutes (CFTIs) to be eligible for Stipend in their 5th Year of study. Is a CPGA of greater than 8.0 sufficient enough to avail the stipend.\n(2) What is the exact amount of Monthly Stipend provided to 5th Year Dual Degree Students in CFTIs.\n(3) NIT Rourkela is the only NIT that provides B.Tech and M.Tech Dual Degrees. In our institute, the criteria for availing stipend in 5th year is to necessarily qualify GATE exam in the respective branches, and the CGPA criteria is not at all taken into account. Is this lawfully correct.\n(4) If a 5th year B.Tech and M.Tech Dual Degree student has a CGPA greater than 8.0 and he/she has not appeared/ not qualified GATE exam, should he/she be provided with the monthly stipend.\n(5) Our Institute also reimburses the GATE Application fee of INR 1500/- ONLY to the students who have qualified GATE and not to the students who have not qualified Is this lawfully correct.
