The RTI application had asked for following:-
Please provide a copy of all orders or letters regarding reservations for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes applicable to programmes in Indian Institutes of Managements before the enactment of The Central educational institutions Reservation in Admission Act 2006.
The CPIO responded that the information sought is not available with them. Please note that before the enactment of The Central educational institutions Reservation in Admission Act 2006, MHRD was the supervising ministry and thus any orders regarding reservations in admissions before the passage of The Central educational institutions Reservation in Admission Act 2006 would have been passed by MHRD.
Hence I appeal to you to provide copy of executive order/GO/DO which specified the nature of reservations to be followed by IIMs BEFORE the passage of the Central educational institutions Reservation in Admission Act 2006.
